DJ Avontura, born as Erwin Schneider in 1971 in The Netherlands, is spoon-fed with music. He was only a little boy when played the organ, which he did over eight years before he got a bit fed up with it. The love for music remained however. It was mid-90s, when he first got to know house music; he met his good friend DJ Cosmoon, who was very active in the goa and psy trance scene and Avontura seriously got enchanted by it. His friend lend him his records and from that moment Avontura was also bitten by the DJ bug! After his first gig, his DJ career became a profession and soon he was performing in the whole country at goa and psy trance parties. In 2001 he spread his wings to Europe for his first international gig, a Full Moon party in Germany. In all these years, he stayed loyal to goa and psy trance, but he also got more and more interested in dark psy. In his sets he regularly uses dark psy tracks. He builds up the tension and then suddenly mixes a dark psy track into his set. He also uses a lot of music from Astrix in his sets and he loves Infected Mushroom because of their versatile, trippy psy trance. Avontura calls it 'music for the mind'! Though he did a lot, Avontura still have dreams. He wants to go out into the world and live the fat of the land! Japan is high on his wish list and of course Goa in India because the music he plays originates there. Also big wishes are a goa set on Ibiza, in the Space for example, performing at the multi-day Boom Festival in Portugal and at Glastonbury in the UK. In the Netherlands he would surely like to perform at Dance Valley.
