Launching the first of September, 2005, < o > is a project that assumes lineage in warehouse parties, new wave staccato, and continental ideas. Prior to 2005, christian.ryan was involved in the blissbeat/electrogazing project, some of the quiet. No longer able to keep his mouth shut, christian enlisted Robin James, shuttered some of the quiet, and setup < o > in a back-alley studio in Chicago. Series One, the first set of releases for < o >, combines irreparable snark with tongue-in-snear dance beats, providing the discotheque with enough synthpunk politics to stimulate body, intellect, and aesthetic. ∙ < o > plans to release portions of their music and media content online, under a modified Creative Commons license, allowing their audience to freely download, trade, and distribute < o >’s material.
