Dennis Sheperd has thrust himself into the spotlight this year, offering prestigious productions and a whole hearted passion for music. The 24 year old from Essen in Germany is rapidly emerging as one of the hottest properties in a blossoming global trance scene right now. His consistent dedication to honing his talents, and indeed the music, has earned him the full respect and support from many leading names within the music industry.
When Dennis began his career, his dedicated focus led him straight into production. Defining his key attributes Dennis began to develop a unique sound that soon manifested into solid, high quality creations.
In 2007 with 'A Tribute to Life', Dennis' essential breakthrough record, he received a much deserved leap towards the forefront of the music industry. Following that leap, an influx of recognition and support came from leading artists such as Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk and Markus Schulz.
2008 brought Sheperd into a new label relationship with Euphonic Records. Kyau & Albert who commented that “Dennis is Germany’s most promising newcomer in Progressive Trance right now!" instantly adopted him into the so much sought-after Euphonic family. It also brought him onto the radar of Gareth Emery, who stated: "Dennis has made some great records, particularly ‘Run Away’, which has been rocking my sets for over six months. He’s definitely a hot name to watch for the future".
Short time after in 2009 his hard work seemed to pay off with his massive production ‘Black Sun’. His impeccable production skills sparked of a killer melody that seamlessly matched his innovative progressive beats. Ronski Speed remixed the track making ‘Black Sun’ one of Sheperd’s most successful releases, gaining numerous plays in clubs and radios all over the world.
In addition this year also saw a special collaboration with Australia's finest export tyDi. It was apparent that the production of the fabulous 'tyDi & Dennis Sheperd feat. Marcie - Somehow' shouldn't be the last cooperation of both youngsters as it became a huge success worldwide containing all the juicy elements of Trance combined with a touch of Dennis' and tyDi's magic.
A month later, the third collaboration of Dennis and his good friend Cold Blue resulted in a production called ‘Freefalling’. With its smoothing melody and stunning vocals it became yet another huge success, gaining loyal support by the prestigious Ferry Corsten and Paul van Dyk.
While touring with major EDM names such as Above & Beyond, Paul Van Dyk, Filo & Peri, Wippenberg, Nic Chagall and Marco V in countries like Italy, Russia, Kazakhstan, Netherlands and of course Germany, Dennis has also played on prestigious music festivals including Mysteryland in Netherlands and Ruhr In Love in Germany.
To add to what has been so far a fantastic year 2010, Dennis has conquered yet another well deserved achievement, as he gathered an award for the "The Best New Artist" in his hometown (Essen, Germany). “It’s a big motivation and lets me believe that my work isn’t for nothing” - Dennis proudly claims.
In August 2010, Dennis released his new solo single “Left of the World” on Euphonic Records, which received massive support again. With the support of Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, Giuseppe Ottaviani und natürlich Kyau & Albert, many fans and DJs around the world got to know and to love his new single!
