Biography
DJ EBAR has been spinning cutting-edge underground dance music professionally on the international level since 1991, focusing on tribal tech-house, deep house, and nujazz/electrobossa. Beginning his DJ career in the Chicago area, he moved on to Florida, Phoenix, Paris, and New York City. His mixing style is comprised of long, seamless, textured mixes that build in intensity as he progresses into his unique vibe. His years of experience, coupled with his ability to read dancefloors, adapt his set and fluctuate energy levels has impressed crowds around the world and led him to play with the likes of Josh Wink, Louie Vega (MAW), Kevin Hedge (Blaze), Tony Humphries, Sunshine Jones (Dubtribe), Lisa Shaw, Fred Everything, Matthias Heilebronn, Kaskade, Andy Caldwell, Barbara Tucker, Tiesto, Moby and countless others. DJ EBAR has played at some of the world’s top venues
such as Cielo, Sullivan Room, Spundae, Folies Pigalle, Le Souk, Nikki Beach, the Raleigh Hotel, and the Full Moon Party in Thailand. EBAR has also released a commercially available DJ compilation mix CD, “made2lounge”, with German powerhouse ZYX Music and American Sony/Red Distribution to be distributed, marketed prominently and sold in retail outlets around the world including Virgin, Musicland and Sam Goody. He is currently based in New York City.
EBAR has also been producing and engineering his own music for his production unit and studio Twilight Technologies New York since 1996. His eclectic, high quality productions and remixes stretch from techhouse, hard tribal, progressive, techno, acid jazz, downtempo, broken beat nujazz and dreamy deep house. He is able to turn around top-flight productions in multiple genres within short timespans. With a 12-year formal education in classical and jazz piano, he knows his way around the keys as well as the drum machine. EBAR has remixed such artists as Robbie Rivera, Ananda Project, Tiger
Stripes, Ian Friday and many others. Remixes and original productions by EBAR have been released on labels such
as King Street Sounds, West End Records, Halo Varga’s Bluem Records, Pound Boys’ Look At You Records, Player
Records (UK), Groove Sense (Italy), Discograph (France), Piston Recordings (Portugal), Next Dimension Music, New York’s Megamen Sounds,
Episode Records, two releases on major label RCA Victor, a set of remixes of Vivian Green on Sony/Columbia, Sifted Recordings, Central Park Recordings, etc etc.
EBAR runs his own record label Sifted Recordings in association with NYC club owner Ramie Burns. Sifted Recordings is comprised of three
sub-labels that each specialize in different genres: Sifted Recordings Green (tech-house, tribal, progressive house); Sifted Recordings Red
(techno, breaks, hard-house); and Sifted Recordings Blue (house, deep house, funky house). The first 3 singles on Sifted have all hit the
prestigious Balance top 40 chart as well as numerous other US and international charts. Sifted has released over 27 singles and is planning a relaunch in mid-2007. More information at

As if running one record label was not enough, EBAR is partnered with Scott Richmond (CEO of Satellite Records, the world’s largest dance music retailer) in ownership of the acclaimed and prestigious deep house label Central Park Recordings. Housing such
soulful house music luminaries such as Ron Trent, Osunlade, Tortured Soul, Alix Alvarez, Sandy Rivera
and Jon Cutler, the label is considered by many to be one of the highest quality soulful house music labels in
the world. Central Park also puts the focus on DJs by producing top-line events at clubs throughout the
country, from Miami Beach’s underground clubs to Nicolas Matar’s world renowned New York club Cielo.

The fall of 2007 sees DJ EBAR forming his third record label - partnering with New York’s big-room favorite DJ
Alex Pearce in forming Quarterlife Records NYC, a new label focused on raw electro and progressive house sounds. This label will represent the grittier sounds coming out of the New York City underground and will enjoy worldwide marketing and distribution from some of the top companies in the field.
