When you say Djosos Krost, you gotta say
dub! Consisting of DJ Pharfar and DJ Filip a.k.a. Turbotito the twosome tweaks out dubby sounds in any guise from da
roots to the deepest of
electro from their studio in Copenhagen, Denmark - adding a cold Nordic sound to the warm Jamaican vibes! The DJ denominations of Pharfar and Filip Nikolic cover far from the whole story, as both of them are producers as well as firm musicians -Pharfar on drums and Filip on keys, guitars and bass!
You could call Djosos Krost a musical collective as they have an inner circle of musicians and vocalists who contribute to their output and people with roots as far apart as Jamaica and Eastern Europe but all of them now jointly based in Copenhagen, and all part of a burgeoning community that has ties all over the world that shows clearly through their music.
The Djosos Krost guys have roots in
rock and
techno music for Filips part -playing in prize-winning Danish rock band
Ludox as well as producing techno on his own as Electrica. Pharfar's background lies in producing
hip hop,
reggae, noteworthy
Bikstok Røgsystem as well as soulful dub material for EMO (Liquid Lounge Music, NYC + Stereo Deluxe, GER) among others.
Pharfar is the funky drummer when EMO is live on stage and DJ Filip was until recently the mad bass player on stage with
Junior Senior as being the guitar player on the bands smash hit
Move Your Feet, now he relocated to sunny California to spend all the doe he earned on touring. Filip has now become the keyboard/guitarplayer in the L.A. based band Ima Robot whith whom he is working on a new albun. Noteworthy Djosos Krost was the remixers behind 'Move Your Feet' in the version that was initially picked up by DJs like Francois Kevorkian and Norman Cook and created the hype that eventually morphed into the massive crossover hit that Move Your Feet became!
Other Djosos Krost remix and production work include
Lake Placid, Little T,
Superheroes, Cornstick,
