These ideas are at the heart of Bear Colony, a patchwork artistic collective from the south consisting of anywhere between six & twelve members, each of varying creative endeavorment. Re-organizing the idea of a Band, Bear Colony assemble their sonic and material formations out of necessity, always open ended and in the moment. Recognizing that all formations have a beginning, a middle, and an end, they combine impulse and hold on to nothing. The members of Bear Colony gathered at Blackwatch Studios in Downtown Norman, Oklahoma earlier this year to cook & clean & cut & paste & offer up the shared preliminary sounds for what will eventually become their sophomore effort.
