dj 5ive’s roots go back to South Beach in 1997 where he was a faithful follower of great DJ’s like Abel, JoJo Odyssey, Eddie X, and Bugie. His style is self-described as old school Chicago house, with a little Latin flavor, and a few bitch tracks thrown in every so often for a little spice. dj 5ive only began using cd’s to mix in the past year. If it were up to him, it would go back to the good ole days of vinyl. The entire process is very personal and cathartic for dj 5ive and it is truly an escape for him. Currently residing in New York City, he is still heavily influenced by the legendary producers such as Ralphi Rosario, Angel Moraes, Murk, Junior Vasquez, David Morales, Peter Rauhofer, Roger Sanchez, and Mark Picchiotti.
