Biography
LoneLady was born in Ashton, grew up in Audenshaw, and lives in Hulme, Manchester. Influences include ESG, Nico, Colin Newman, Joy Division, REM, A Certain Ratio, Pil, Gang Of Four. Her first release was a 4-track single on Filthy Home Recordings - "Hi Ho Bastard/Fear No More" in June 2005. This was followed in October with the "Have No Past" EP. LoneLady’s first show outside Manchester was at 2006’s SXSW festival in Texas - where she was invited to play on the strength of these 4-track recordings. Billboard listed LoneLady as one of their ‘Ones to watch’ in their SXSW 2007 preview feature. Filthy Home 7'' single "Army / Intuition" received airplay on Radio 1, Radio 6, and XFM. Too Pure inaugurated their singles club with the release of LoneLady's first full studio recording 'Early The Haste Comes''. LoneLady signed to Warp Records in 2009. Her debut full-length, ''Nerve Up'', was released on the 22nd February 2010.
