Obeah (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) Obeah is an old school Death metal band from Nijmegen, the Netherlands with members from other active bands Pure Breed, Victimizer, Intero, Stronghold and Mindless. Obeah has been blasting since the beginning of 2006 and are seasoned performers and recording artists. Obeah’s style is influenced by fellow metal bands Bolt-Thrower, Six Feet Under, Obituary and Vader. The songs are marked by pumping walls of metal guitar, grooving drumparts, and an insane bass sound that's skull crushing. Count in the brutal vocals from Ates Atila and Obeah is a band that's crushing everything in their path! Obeah was born when blood brothers Tjeerd Alwicher (ex-Victimizer, ex-Peril of death, Mindless, Intero, ex-Moaning Spirit) and Bjorn Alwicher (Pure Breed, ex- Moaning Spirit) decided to start a band, where they could put in their love for the heaviest genres of metal. Tjeerd and Bjorn recruited drummer Richard Laumen (ex-Moaning Spirit, Fear of Tarot) and Vocalist Harry Maat (ex-Shadow Fear, Guest vocalist for Vader) to build the early incarnation of Obeah. After a half year of rehearsing, they were proud to add Martijn Ophoff (Mindless, Stronghold) as their new bass player. After Obeah parted their ways with Richard and Harry, they need to find a new drummer and Vocalist. Drummer Armand Knibbeler (ex-Forced to adapt, Mindless, Intero) and Vocalist Ates Atila (ex-Peril of death, ex-Victimizer) completed their new and resolidifed line up! At the end of 2006, with their new line up, things were moving fast. After a half year of rehearsing, they hit the stage for the first time together with Thanatos and Desensitised and they blown the venue away with their pumping and grooving death metal. Shortly after this first gig, they shared the stage together with Blindsight, Cypher, Gilo, Hevein, Inhume, Excrematory Grindfuckers, Shadowlord, Sammath, Battalion, Non-Divine, Emperors Of The Black, Dark Remains, Graven Image, Monastery,Warmaster and many others. Nowadays, Obeah stands for an evening of powerful, grooving, skull crushing Death metal that will relive the old days. Obeah aka DJ 2000F (Danmark) Obeah is probably the most important danish dubstep producer and the most important person on the scene. Since the mid-nineties, he has played an important role on the electronic scene in Copenhagen, and with OHOI! he has thrown unforgettable parties since 2002 with UK Garage, Drum'n'bass and dubstep. He is also a part of the Below-crew which has just started arranging dubstep-parties in "Kødbyen". Last, but not least, he is one of the founders of the Kraken recordcompany which releases dubstep worldwide. To begin pointing out where and when Obeah has had his tracks out would be too ambitious, but we can just mention, that Mary Anne Hobbs played one of his tracks on BBC recently, just as N-Type recently opened his radioshow with an Obeah-track. Obeah contributed to the first DDD-mixtape with two tracks: "Copenhagen Massive" and a remix of F.U.K.T's "GO!" Also on the second DDD-mixtape, Obeah has contributed with two tracks: His Natasja-remix and his The Floor Is Made Of Lava-remix.
