Classically trained musician Oxynucid aka Dominick Schofield is fast making a name for himself in electronic music. Having spent 10 years playing keys in electro-indie band Turncoat he decided to leave to pursue his solo career. He quickly began working with The Centrifuge and has released a string of acclaimed EPs and tracks, combining his electro tendencies and braindance influences to shape wondrous pieces of lush melodic electronics. Remix duty for some highly tipped labels across the dance and experimental spectrum have followed, and this should be the summer of love for Oxynucid’s distinctive sound. You aren’t gonna see too many reel-to-reel players and Korg MS-10s on stage either – live electronics can be real, and Oxynucid’s sets have been the highlight of many a Centrifuge show. 2010 is a busy year for Oxynucid, a new EP on Maltese Label Complex Sound Sagacity, a full length LP working with Berlin's Vertical67 on the Moth Conk Midi project, which is out on the Belgian label Caoutchou, and a follow up to Symbiotix with Planet Mu's Mrs Jynx.
