1. Stanley Ross is the moniker for Chicago based songwriter Nicholas Meiers.
2. There is also a European house music artist that goes by Stanley Ross.
After getting Stanley Ross going in 2004 with a split seven inch vinyl release on Nodak Records and quick tour of the west coast, Meiers put Stanley Ross somewhat on the shelf to play bass in Love Story in Blood Red, and for Devin Davis. As those projects slowed, in 2007 Stanley Ross wrote and recorded the full length debut "Favorites" which was released 01/10/08.
Stanley Ross recorded a follow up to "Favorites" called "Here With Me" that is scheduled for release in 08/2009.
The past few years have included many regional shows, one west-coast tour, a show in Brooklyn, and an appearance in Ireland. The "bands played with" list includes Holy Fuck, Br. Danielson, Elf Power, A Place to Bury Strangers, Jeffrey Lewis, and Okkervil River.
"Favorites" was recorded and co-produced by Kris Poulin who's credits include Pinback, Will Oldham, Smog, and Jim O'Rourke.
Also Nicholas Meiers has contributed to some great projects over the past few years that very few have heard of - see Harbor Lights [PowerRecordings.com], Jitney [RockProper.com], Kaspar Hauser [KasparHauserMusic.net], Last Cannibals [PowerRecordings.com], and Soft Jolts.
