For the past 4 years TV ROCK have set the benchmark in Australia for dance music, selling over 250,000 singles and picking up 2 ARIA awards in the process. Their debut single ‘Flaunt It’ spent the longest time in Australian chart history inside the top 10 beating Silverchair for the honour. Their singles have also appeared on over 2,000,000 compilations sold around the world. TV ROCK is made up by dance heavyweights Grant Smillie and Ivan Gough. In recent months in addition to destroying dancefloors in Australia and Asia the TV ROCKERS have played to millions closing the Australian MTV Music Awards and travelling the world playing gigs. The TV ROCK lads recently tied up a deal with Nintendo for the USA to have ‘Flaunt It’ to be used on all their fall campaigns with a rollout set for the rest of the world in 2008. The TV ROCK team have been hectic in the studio working on new tunes- their latest offereing ‘Been A Long Time’ feat Rudy was hammered at the Miami WMC 08 by Roger Sanchez, Axwell, Dirty South and Laidback Luke amongst others. In recent Months the lads have been remixing some of the world’s dance heavyweights including Groove Armada, Axwell, Armand Van Helden, Paul Van Dyk, MURK, Dirty South and the seminal Lil Mo Ying Yang’s ‘Reach’. TV ROCK have held 7 #1 positions for their remixes on the Australian dance charts, had an essential new tune and multiple plays on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection and radio plays throughout Europe and the US. After rocking the great Southern land, TV ROCK recently headed to Europe again to continue to spread the word. There they collaborated with Dave Spoon and Laidback Luke and scored residencies for the European summer 08. The TV ROCKERS have 7 new releases scheduled for 2008- more- It’s no wonder TV ROCK were listed as ones to watch in 2008 by iDJ Mag and Mixmag this year. One half of TV ROCK, Grant Smillie also is Co-Host of the highest rating dance show in Australia-‘Overdrive’ on the Nova network every Saturday night nationally alongside John Course. Grant is a Pioneer Pro DJ ambassador and has mixed CD’s for Ministry Of Sound, Australian superclub Onelove and now his own imprint Audio Riot. Grant was also the DJ of choice for Prince, Ferrari, Gucci, Australian Fashion Week, Kiss and many more. The other half of TV ROCK, Ivan Gough is not only one of Australia’s most accomplished dance music exports, he’s also one of its very first! Not only have Ivan’s records graced the airwaves of Kiss90 London and the crates of Sasha and Oakenfold, but he also has more releases (and remixes) to his name than any other Australian.
