Marcelo is originally from Montevideo Uruguay and have been mixing the Candombe sound rhythm that cames from Africa but played by most of the Uruguayans with the electronic music since 1992. With this particulary sound Castelli had created his own style taking the tribal sound to next level. Marcelo is one of the dj´s producers Latin America Icons. He have been djying for more than 15 years around the world and producing lots of excellents tracks and remixes. London, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapur, Yakarta, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Moscu, Montreal, Miami, Vilnius, Sofia, Oslo, Ciudad de Mexico, Panama, San Pablo, Buenos Aires y Punta del Este are some of the cities where Marcelo have been playing in the last years. 'Ministry Of Funk' is he new success house project where he brings back the funky vibes from the 70's, tracks like 'The Dancer', 'Funky Nation' were instant hits in 2008, climing charts from all over the world. At the moment Marcelo Castelli has more than 100 originals tracks, more than 50 vinyls and more than 30 remixes released in excellent labels such as - Kismet, Low Pressings, Hooj Stereo-Productions, Musiq, Fluential, Cream, Illustrious, Release Grooves, Referense Records, Tribo, Magna, En Soul, Votu, Vibra /Universal, Xplosion Records, Wanted, Bonita Musica, JellyBean Records and House Work. Muzik magazine called him the South American maestro when "Sonar", signed to Kismet Records, hit the streets in April 2002. It reached number 13 on the UK based magazine Muzik Magazine as well as high placement on Djs charts from around the globe. Sonar (Kismet Records) was included in the Best Essential Mix of the year released by Sander Kleinenberg in BBC Radio 1. With more than 18 years experience as a dj and 15 years as a producer Marcelo Castelli has now travelled over 1 million kms around the world playing his music in the 5 continents and more than 25 countries for crowds in the bests clubs in cities such as: Moscu, London, Ibiza, Zurich, Amsterdam, Copenhague, Stockolm, Barcelona, Montreal, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bali, Tokyo, Sofia, Vourgas, Vilnius, Kaunas, Oporto, Algarve, Miami, Atlanta, Mexico City, Acapulco, Panama, Guatemala, Bogota Barranquilla, Cali, Medellin, Lima, Santiago de Chile, Rio, San Pablo, Porto Alegre, Cordoba, Asunción, Montevideo and Punta del Este. Almost all his tracks were played in Radio 1 and Kiss Fm in Uk and the best radios from around th world. His recent project Castelli and Perazzoli On The Road track on Alternative Route was one of the top summer track in the summer of Europe 2006 ,having several plays on Radio One and was included on Pure Pacha Ibiza 2006 Mixed by Pete Tong. The versatility of his productions have allowed him to release tracks such as Caveman, Sonar, and Raices, all tracks that make you go mental without loosing the dancefloor feeling. Tracks like Tribalismo, Jungleman( 6 in Dj Mag chart), Tambores del Sur or On Drums that are pure tribal house as it's best and have proven to rock many dancefloor's around the world. It's no wonder why some of the top progressive and tribal jocks are choosing to use Marcelo's tracks on a routine basis. Legendary Dj Danny Rampling on Dj Mag december 2005 had mention Marcelo Castelli as one of the top 10 future djs. He had played in the San Pablo Fashion Week one of the most important Fashion event in the world and also composed the music for one of the best brasilean fahion designer Ricardo Almeida parade. One of his track co productions with G.Bravetti,El Mambo was included in the Jackie Chan film The Tuxido for a Dream Works productions. His remixes of the GRAMMY AWARDS WINNER Los Tangueros for Bajo Fondo Tango Club (Vibra/ Universal) had rich number 2 in the Bilboard Club Play chart in september 2003. He has been invited to make a conference and play at the November 2003 Dj Dance Acapulco Conference.
